Elizabeth Maude Jane (Greentree) Mayo-Jaffray was born on 7 Jul 1888 in Wisemans Ferry, Colony of New South Wales, daughter of Jesse Greentree (1853 - 1908) and Elizabeth (Douglass) Greentree (~1848 - 1937).[1]
Her many grandchildren remember their grandmother with much fondness as a wonderful woman who was the kindest and cuddliest grandmother one could ever have. She was always fair and loved them all equally showing no favouritism. There were many tough times in her life but she remained stallwart and neve complained. Daughters said that they never remember her being in labour, mthe household simply woke the next morning to a new baby in the house.
