An obituary in Windsor and Richmond Gazette dated 23rd July, 1958 reads:
"GEORGE GREENTREE"
With deep regret we report the death of a widely respected Freemans Reach personality, Mr. George Greentree at this home on July 17, at the age of 60 years.
Predeceased by a son (Philip), he is survived by his wife, two daughters, Muriel (Mrs. Pittman) and Evelyn (Mrs. W. Beecroft), and two sons, Peter and Anthony, to whom a big circle of Hawkesbury friends offe their sincere condolences.
The funeral on the following day took place after a service in St. John's Church of England, Wilberforce moving to the Rookwood Crematorium.
