Obituary

LOWER HAWKESBURY.
It Is with deep regret that we have to re-
port the death of Little Rita, aged 9 years,
the eldest of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Greentree's
little family of three. The sad occurrence
took place at the old home, at Lower Hawk-
esbury North, on Thursday, May 29. It
appears that she was seized with an epileptic
fit in the morning, from which she did not
rally, this being the third seizure of the kind
the little child had been subjected to. The
funeral left the parents' residence on Satur-
day, May 31st. The coffin was borne from
the house by six young maidens dressed in
white, to the wharf on the bank of the
river, where three large motor launches
were waiting to convey the remains and the
mourners to the cemetery wharf, near Wise-
man's Ferry, from whence it was again
carried in the manner described above, to
the place where the little body must rest
until "The Good Shepherd" comes to gather
his lambs. Notwithstanding the scarcity of
flowers, there were many beautiful wreaths.
The funeral was largely attended. Sympath-
isers came from all parts of the district, and
even from Sydney. The Rev. Mr. Scharkie
officiated at the grave. Mr. and Mrs. Green-
tree have the deepest sympathy of the whole
district in their sad bereavement.
