Martha was named as Brechgen (Bridget)'s daughter in her grandmother Brechgen's (Bridget's) 1643 will.[1]
Research Notes
Martha's last name was not given in her grandmother's will. This profile currently (April 2023) has it as Greenwood, though she may have been a daughter of her mother's second husband William Lee.
In 1670 Martha Lij (born at Leiden) married Hendrick Strominger at Leiden.[2] The birth locations of their older children are unknown, however by 1677 they were in Delft where they had daughters Brechje (b. 1677, d. 1677)[3][4] and Brechje (c. 1679).[5] Henderick Stroommenger and Martha Leij made a testament in 1704,[6] and Martha was buried in 1719.[7] An inventory was taken of Hendrich's estate in 1720, naming his children Gerrit Strominger (and wife Baartje Bout), Brechje Strominger (and husband Lambert Outhuijsen), Helena Strominger, Johannes Strominger (and wife Judith Visscher), and Catharina Strominger (deceased; her widower Hendrick Visscher).[8]
