When Leander Greer was born on May 23, 1863, in Ohio, his father, Thomas, was 37 and his mother, Isabel, was 29. He married Hester Ann Nevergall on August 7, 1887. They had four children during their marriage. He died on June 16, 1941, in Washington Court House, Ohio, at the age of 78.
