We know he was in Gold Hill, Storey Co. NV in 1866, as he had adaughter, Frances Marion Greer born there 6 Sep 1866. We have a certified death certif. We have a copy of the 25 Oct 1866 Territorial Enterprise of Virginia City, Nevada (Mark Twain Editor) newspaper, listing Thomas Greer as a Registered Voter of the Second Ward in Gold Hill, Nevada. Gold Hill was about 3 miles down a canyon road from Virginia City. In a Nevada Directory for 1868 Gold Hill page 104, he was a miner at the Overman Mine. Thomas, wife Mary E, step daughter Leona Eva, and daughter Frances left Gold Hill, Storey Co. Nevada in 1868 for Stubenville, Jefferson Co. OH. Their second daughter, Elizabeth, was born there 26 Jan 1869. Census of 1870 Mill Twp., Dennison, Tuscarawas Co. OH, he was a brick molder. Census of 1880 page 43 or 216, Dennison, Tuscarawas Co. OH he was a teamster. The family home was on First Street in Dennison, Ohio. He made the bricks that the home was built of. (Info from Charlotte Fisher McDonald, and Clarence Fisher III). The home was later torn down andis now part of the parking lot for the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home. His father was James Greer born in Ireland, and his mother was Mary ________ born in Ireland. (Stated on certified death certificate)

PLEASE NOTE: Charlotte (Fisher) McDonald gave us a picture of her gr grandmother, Mary E. Greer standing in front of the Greer home on First Street. On the back of the picture she wrote his name as Thomas Fatshell Greer. We wonder if the "F" in Fatshell should have been a "P" as in Patshell. The name Patshell/Fatshell could have been his mother's maiden name. He could have married Mary E.(McMillen) Smith in Ohama, Douglas County, Nebraska or in Gold Hill, Storey County, Nevada about 1865. Please see her notes! We have copy of Thomas's daughter's death certificate (Margaret Ada (Greer) Fisher), info given by Clarence L. Fisher II (her son). He stated his mother's mother's maiden name (or his grandmothers name) as Mary Greer Smi th, or what it should have been, Mary Smith Greer. We have a certified copy of Thomas's death certificate.
