Biography

Charles was married twice, his first wife Alice Hoskinson was 41 when she died. Charles had three children with his first wife Alice, Charles Thomas Greer, only surviving child, then the two children who died young were Elizabeth Alice Greer and John Joseph Ernest Greer. Charles second wife was at least 20 years younger than him, Mary Small, and they had four children together; James, Arthur, Albert and Ada.

Charles was a Tinsmith like his father John Greer and his brother John, and some of his other siblings were also Tinsmiths, which trade was passed on to his son Charles as well.
