Biography

Rhoda Greer was born about 1782 in Bedford County, Virginia.She was the daughter of James Greer and Elizabeth Greer.

She married Stephen Ferguson in 1809 in Franklin County. He was the son of Alexander Ferguson and Mary Parker. They farmed, were slave owners, and raised several children. Their primary residence was on the south side of Gills Creek just north of Crossroads and just to the west of Lost Mountain Road.

After Rhoda died in 1841, Stephen remarried to Eleanor Crotty in 1843, and had 5 more children with her. Stephen died in 1853.
