Arthur Greer was born in Lancashire, England.
Arthur Greer was born about 1874 and was christened on 15 March 1874 in St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Liverpool, Lancashire, England. [1] He is the son of Richard Greer and Elizabeth Cruikshank.
In the 1881 census Arthur (age 7) was the son of Richard Greer in Benledi St, Liverpool, Lancashire, England.[2]

Research Notes
In the 1871 Census, another child (baby) named Arthur Greer is recorded living with his family in Toxteth Park, Lancashire, England. [4] However it seems reasonable to assume that this was a different child, who perhaps died soon after birth.
Arthur's parents married on 27 August 1873 in Astley Bridge, Lancashire, England however the 1871 census indicates they were already married with two sons at the time. I have been unable to find an alternative marriage for Richard to a different Elizabeth, and have not found birth records for Robert Greer (born about 1869 in Ireland or baby Arthur Greer born about 1871 in Liverpool.
