In 1852, Ann married Robert Kirkland at Clare Presbyterian Church, near Tandragee, in Ballymore parish, County Armagh, Ireland. This was in the Civil Registation District of Banbridge, encompassing County Armagh and County Down, Ireland. [2][3]
They had five or more children, including Elizabeth, Hannah, Sarah, Martha Jane, and Sophia Kirkland.

Robert Kirkland passed away in 1869 at Drumart, Mullaghbrack parish, County Armagh. [7]
At the time of the 1901 Ireland Census, Mrs Ann Kirkland was living at Drumart in Mullaghbrack parish, County Armagh. She was listed as a widow, aged 70 years. Her daughter, Mrs Hannah Cairns, aged 40 years, and two grandchildren were living there. [8]
Mrs Ann Kirkland passed away at the age of 78 years, in 1908 at Clare, near Tandragee, in County Armagh, Ireland. Her daughter Hannah registered the death. The record states that Ann was the widow of Robert Kirkland, deceased. [9]
