Hi Elizabeth,

I am doing Gloucestershire for the Source-a-thon too. I'm new on Wikitree, so no fixed idea where to start. Would it be OK if I started on profiles that were born in Stroud or Cirencester - the towns I know best? Rob

Hello Elizabeth

Re: proposed merges (1) Saunders1290/Sanders-15146 (2) Pandreth-1/Pendreth-1 and (3) Pandreth-5/Pendreth-2

Whilst I agree that these merges should be made, I have initially rejected the proposed merges for the following reasons.

I would suggest that the duplicate - (a) daughter - Anne (Sanders-15148) Tylman / Anna (Sanders-3420) Tilghman and (b) son-in-law - Christopher Tylman-6 (son of Christopher Tylman) / Christopher Tilghman-6 (son of Nicholas and Jane and on whose profile I have added some Research Notes) and the children of each couple need to be resolved first. With this in mind, my suggestion would be to 1. disconnect Anna (Sanders-3420) Tilghman as the wife of Christopher Tilghman-6 and the mother of the named children John Tilghman-137; Christopher jr. Tilghman-5 and John Tilghman-205 2. merge Anna (Sanders-3420) Tilghman with Anne (Sanders-15148) Tylman but retain the married surname TYLMAN which is the LNAB for Christopher Tylman-6, and also the surname used when he married Ann in 1598, plus the LNAB for all Anne and Christopher Tylman's children. 3. then the merge of Edward Saunders-1290 with Edward Sanders-15146 - including Elizabeth (Saunders-9629) Hougham as the daughter of Edward and Anne.

The 2 x Pendreth/Pandreth merges can follow on from the above - I should point out that the spelling of the surname (marriage/Will) is Pendreth and not Pandreth.

All that sounds like a good plan! I've got no vested interest either way on spelling etc, so there won't be any disagreement from me if you do the disconnections and then propose merges. I'm just always happy to see the tree being more accurate. All the best, Elizabeth :-)

Hello, Elizabeth, thank you so much for helping. I truly appreciate you.

You're welcome Toni  :-) It's always good when we can add a primary source to an early profile.
How do you keep up? Your research and work on the last challenge is amazing! Inspiration 😀

Thanks Maggie! I love research, that's my favourite part of WT and if I can get stuck in to an interesting family all the better. (Being on holiday helps too! More time for fun!)
