He married Samantha Ann Griffin on September 20, 1883 Hill Co, TX. They remained in Hill Co. until after 1910. In 1920, they are living in Henderson Co., TX.
Loving is named after his two grandfathers. Loving is Edna's father's name and Griffin is Edward's father's name.
Loving & Samantha had eleven children: Asa Griffin, Eli Denton, Hiram Harrison, Farris Hendricks, Mary (Prewitt), Lizzie (Easterly), William Franklin, Sarah Catherine (Hilborn, first marriage and Naron, 2nd marriage), Marcus Lee, Alonzo and Marion."
