J. W. “Spud” Gregory
GREGORY, J. W. “Spud” Age 69, passed away Thursday, May 1, 1997 at a local hospital. He was born October 18, 1927 in Naylor, Arkansas the son of Otis and Fannie (FULTON) Gregory. He was stationed in Japan at the end of WW II while serving our country in the United States Army. He moved to Safford, Arizona in 1952 and later worked for the Gila Music Company until 1993. He moved to the Roseburg area in 1994. Spud enjoyed traveling around the U.S. Sightseeing and made many friends. He was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association and the Eastern Arizona Motorcycle Club. He was also a member of the Thunderbird Stuntsmen's Association. Survivors include three daughters, Sherry Weinberg of Tenmile, Kayla Powell of Roseburg and Candy Nelson of Yuma, Arizona; six grandchildren, two sisters, Rita Sims of Reedly, California and Virgie Willis of Vancouver, Washington. Private interment will be at the Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point, Oregon. Arrangements are under the direction of Taylor's Family Chapel in Winston.
