George and all younger siblings were born at Brocklay in Glenbervie, refer below, two older siblings were born at Stonehouse, another farm along the road.
The baptism record is the only record for all seven children and is very unusual in that all entries for this family were written by one person on the same day and with the same pen at some time after the birth of the youngest child, their birth dates span from 1750-1779. There is no minister and no witnesses are recorded. All children have William as father.

Baptism record - 13/09/1762 GREIG, GEORGE (Old Parish Registers Births 261/ 10 36 Glenbervie) Page 36 of 259. Record cites farm name as 'Brocklay', with 'Stonehouse' they are located west of Mergie on a forest road, refer to 1750-1800-ish survey maps, like following.
Map above refers to 'Bracklay' there are many variations - Brucklaw, Brocklaw, Brucklay, Brocklay and others. Look directly north of Glenbervie when map loads. Brocklay is an ancient farm building that was in bad state even then and is now no more than a foundation line in a forest. The name in Gaelic is supposed to indicate something like a shaky ruin.
