Moise Bernard Grenier was born and baptized on 22 Aug 1820 in Sainte-Anne d'Yamachiche parish. He was the son of Joseph Grenier, farmer, and his wife Marie Julie Fortier.[1] Godparents at Moise's baptism were Calixte Heroux & Josette Grenier.
About 1835, he left home and traveled, following "the river" for three years. He worked for the American Fur Company in the Rocky Mountains for seven years.
on 18 Feb 1844, Joseph married Miss Eliza A Whaley in Washington County, Missouri.[2] The children from this marriage are:
In 1849, Moses traveled again, this time to California, driving an ox team. He spent three years there establishing a ranch before returning to Missouri. Two years during the tunneling of Iron Mountain, he spent merchandising in Irondale.
Moses died in 1893.
