Twyneham), an order was made by Mr Justice Northcroft in the Supreme Court yesterday adjudging bankrupt Frederick William Gresham, a retired dentist. PRESS - 14 DECEMBER 1951 / MEETING OF CREDITORS - RETIRED DENTIST'S BANKRUPTCY Unsecured debts amounting to £1987 0s 1d, and assets which would probably realise £130 were shown in the statement of affairs of Frederick William Gresham, a retired dentist, who was adjudged bankrupt on November 30, at a meeting of his creditors in the Official Assignee (Mr G. W. Brown) yesterday. The assets were second hand dentist's equipment valued at approximately £50 and book debts from which although they totalled more than £200, only about £80 would be recovered. In his statement Gresham said he attributed his position to his loss of £4600 in the failure of the East End Garage, and to the fact that he got to dividend because the owner had burnt or destroyed the necessary evidence to satisfy the Assignee. "A friend has offered me a good position after Christmas and I hope to pay 20s in the £ within one year." said the bankrupt's statement. The creditors decided to take no action because Gresham's debts had obviously been incurred in trying to help others.[13]
