Biography

Troy Gresham was an avid Gresham family researcher and privately published a manuscript of his family. He was always helpful to anyone who asked questions on the Query Boards and a generous mentor to any new person doing Gresham research.

For anyone interested in DNA ancestry, Troy's daughter and Tom Grissom were able to get his original dna sample upgraded to add him to the Big Y 700 Gresham Surname Project at FTDNA. He is helping us even after he is gone. You may contact Woody Hewitt, Coordinator for this project at FTDNA.

FTDNA Kit is 174412 and haplog is R-FT286509

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Troy or other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree: It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Troy:

Troy, my dear friend and fellow researcher passed away in 2021. I would like to take over the management of the profiles with Gresham, Grisham, Grissom names that he managed.

Thanks, Mary

Please refer to WikiTree’s Collaboration and Honor Code pages. Please respond in 7 days, otherwise, I will follow the procedures for Unresponsive Profile Managers.

Hi! I see where you have uploaded your DNA for comparison.  Did you know we have a project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening?  If you are interested and would like to check it out, go to the FIND link top right of your profile page, select PROJECTS from the drop down box, and then select the link for the DNA project.  It has information listed that might be of interest to you, and feel free to contact any of the members if you would like additional details.
Hello,

Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having. How is your experience with Wikitree going? If you have questions regarding Gedcoms, here's the link to the GEDCOM help category: GEDCOMS

Do you have Royal Ancestors? They are already here on Wikitree! Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles. The Help Index is also an important place to find how to do most tasks.

Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.

P.S. I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Our process here is a little different than what you might find on other sites because of our goal of growing one worldwide tree with a single profile for each individual. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.

Welcome Troy!

I'm glad you found us. To become a full member (aka Wiki Genealogist), you’ll need to sign the Honor Code. For a list of helpful links, click my name and check out the "Greeter" section-especially the Sources links and the links to my fellow greeters Debby and Maggie, who have helpful information on their profile pages also.

If you get stuck on anything and can't find an answer in WikiTree Help or How to Use WikiTree, you can post to G2G or give me a holler.

Thank you for joining our collaborative tree! Remember that our mission is to build a global tree with just one profile per person, so please look for duplicates before adding a profile.

Enjoy!

I am Troy Gresham. I live in Houston, Texas. I have been doing research on my Family Tree since 1967. I have a pretty clear picture of my Gresham family back to George and Sarah m. in King & Queen Co.., Virginai in 1732.
Welcome to WikiTree. We're glad you found us.

How To Use WikiTree is a good place to start. It is a step-by-step-guide to WikiTree basics. Our G2G Forum is searchable or you can post a question there. The Help Index is also an important place to find how to do most tasks.

If you would like to contribute your family's tree and you agreeItalic text with our Honor Code (click the link to it in the drop-down menu in "Help" at upper right), volunteer here on your profile by typing a message with something referencing the Honor Code and sharing and we would be glad to add you to our WikiTree community. Donna
