Margaret Lenton alias Grey, was the illegitimate d. & h. of Sir Thomas Grey (d. 27 Apr 1555 Tower Hill, London).[1][2]
Marriage
She was the second wife of John Astley of Allington & Maidstone, Kent (b. c. 1507 - d. 01 Aug 1596). They married on 13 October 1565.[1][2] John was previously married to Catherine Champernown (dsp. July 1565).
Children
According to Hasler (1981), Margaret and John had six children, including three sons and three daughters.[1] But other sources state they had one son, and three daughters.[3][4]
m. (bef. Aug. 1592 as second wife) Sir Norton Knatchbull of Mersham Hatch,[4] (bp. 11 Sep 1569 - d. 12 Dec 1636, bur. St. John the Baptist, Mersham), will dated 13 Jun 1636.[6]
m. Thomas Knatchbull of Maidstone, bros. of Sir Norton Knatchbull.[4]
