From Myrna Wade: I am descended from Ezekiel in two ways: 1) he never married my ggg grandmother, Nancy Cowan on my grandmother's side, but signed a letter of bastardy with the state of North Carolina and agreed to a lump sum payment for the child Jerry Burdette Cowan (1825-1903). I don't know if Nancy just didn't want to follow him to the wilds of Colorado and leave her family or what??? Ezekiel married subsequently, at different times, 3 Cherokee women and had many children. and 2) his sister Margaret Gribble married a Frizzell and had a child Margaret Evaline Frizzell who married Solomon Frady who is my gg grandfather on my grandfather's side. So I am related to him on both sides of my mother's family.
From Melinda McRae: He and his third wife Rebecca were living with his son John William Gribble in Huerfano, Colorado in 1880.[1] He and his third wife Rebecca were living with his son John William Gribble in Huerfano, Colorado in 1880
He passed away 12 Jul 1889 and is buried
La Veta Cemetery,[2] in LaVeta, Huerfano County, Colorado.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Ezekiel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Ezekiel:
Gribble-1019 and Gribble-155 appear to represent the same person because: I checked and it was my misspelling of Ezekiel with an a that created the duplicate.
I would like to be on your trusted list for his profile for ease of working on it. If you agree to this, I can take care of the merge.
I will work around the edges on the family until this is straightened out. Thanks - Melinda McRae
Gribble-606 and Gribble-155 appear to represent the same person because: Gribble 155 and Gribble 606 are the same person. He was not married to Nancy Cowan in North Carolina, but did sign a letter of bastardy.
