Biography
John was born about 1756.
John Gribble married Mary Toul in Whitchurch, Devon, in 1784 [1].
John Gribble died in Lamerton in 1834 and was buried there on the 23rd January [2].
Discussion notes
The three eldest children recorded for this couple do not have firm linking evidence. They were not baptised in Lamerton. The parish registers are available and legible for this time period and no entries for Gribble are there prior to the baptism of Samuel in 1792. John Gribble senior appears in the Churchwardens accounts, but not until 1796.
It would seem that this Gribble family moved into Lamerton from another parish.
They were the only Gribble family in Lamerton at this time so linking William, Mary and John as their children seems extremely likely, but is just not adequately documented.
