A, 53d I. V. I., Dec. 30, 1861; was at siege of Corinth, his companybeing Gen.Halleck's body guard; discharged on account of disability June 24, 1862; married Mary C. Hawkes Dec. 19, 1866; she was born in Lockport, Niagra Co., N. Y.; they have three children; one died in infancy; those living are Hugh L. and an infant son.
