Biography
ROCKWELL - Rebecca Griffin Trexler, 88, of 835 Phaniel Church Road, Rockwell, died on Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at The Brian Center of Concord.
She was born on Feb. 28, 1920, in Union County, the daughter of the late Calvin Griffin and the late Cleo William Shaw Griffin.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by son, Ronnie Trexler; a grandson, Scott Trexler; two brothers; and three sisters.
Mrs. Trexler is survived by three sons, James Trexler and wife Emmie, Gary Trexler and wife Vicky, and Wayne Trexler and wife Robin all of Rockwell; four grandsons; three granddaughters; four great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and by two great-great-granddaughters.
She was a member of Phaniels Baptist Church, which she loved her pastor and her church family and she loved good gospel music. She took special care of her husband and mother when they were bed fast. In fact, she was always there when people needed her.
Service and Burial: 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2 at Phaniels Baptist Church with burial to take place at Carolina Memorial Park conducted by the Rev. Michael Taylor.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday at Whitley's Funeral Home.
Memorials: Memorials can be made to, Phaniels Baptist Church, 2685 Phaniel Church Rd. Rockwell, NC 28138.
