Biography

Joel Griffen, the son of Samuel, 3d and Elizabeth (___) Griffin, was baptized in Gloucester on February 26, 1775.[1] [2]

On 24 November 1798, Joel and Abigail (Merchant) Griffin (1777-1831) filed intentions to marry in Gloucester, Massachusetts. [3] [4]

Joel, of Folly Cove, m., fisherman, died of dropsy and disease of the heart, Oct. 7, 1848, a. 73 y., in Rockport, Massachusetts.[5] He is buried in Locust Grove Cemetery in Gloucester, Massachusetts.[6]
