In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sunshine Center School, 607 W. Lexington, Independence, MO 64050. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Griffin, daughter, Cammy (Alex) Fetters, and son, Vernon (Sherri) Griffin Jr.
He is survived by two brothers, Johnny of Independence, Mo, and Jerry of Poughkeepsie, NY.
