Biography
Russell Len Griffin, 75, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020, in his home.
Russell was born December 21, 1944, in Shelbyville, IL, to Russell Henry and Fleta E. (Howe) Griffin. He received a Master’s in Education from Eastern Ilinois University. Russell was a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity and an extremely strong supporter. He taught school in the Decatur Public School district for many years. Russell married Robert Anthony Cipponeri on August 14, 2008, in San Francisco, CA.
He is survived by his husband, Robert; their two sons, Kyle and Richard Cipponeri; and one sister, Carla Warren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lionel and Kurt Griffin.
Memorial services to celebrate the life of Russell Griffin will be 1 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2020, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at a later date.
