Biography
William, son of Robert, was baptised at Steeple Ashton, Wiltshire on 20 Jan 1655. [1]
Research Note
On the original profile as created in 2011, a date of death was given of 4 Apr 1694. This may be true but a) I am unable to find a burial record on that date, and b) William's youngest child was baptised in 1698 (after his dad's death). Of course, not all the children attributed to this William may belong to him - there seem to have been many William Griffins in Steeple Ashton, and unfortunately no mothers' names appear on the children's baptismal records to tie them to certain parents. Without further proofs it's impossible to say at present (2 Dec 2017).
