Are there any primary sources to prove the existence of Mary Griffin as a real person? Is she an invention from a forged bible?

MY OPINION:

As noted in his profile, Thomas Lee Sr’s birth year ranges from 1729 to 1735, with 1729 coming from a modern gravestone with no sourcing. (I lean toward the later years of this range for this birth.)

If this Mary were real and her dates of birth (1732) and marriage (1747) accurate, then Thomas’s dob would have to be such that he is *at least* 17-years-old when he marries a 15-year-old girl.

Seems like the modern gravestone might have been part of the fraud.

I propose removing the middle name "Agnes" from WikiTree profile of Mary Agnes (Griffin) Lee (1732 - abt. 1758). So far no documents show her as having a middle name.

Why bother, she was married to a Ditchley Lee? This Thomas Lee is a North Carolina Lee. This marriage could have never happened anyways as he was already married, but they refuse to let anybody clean up this mess because somebody's feelings will get hurt!

I think that the Thomas Lee of Ditchley who married Mary Griffin (daughter of Samuel Griffin whose family comes from Northumberland which includes Ditchley) is part of a fraud and has nothing to do with the Thomas Lee who is the son of John Lee Esq (Lee-1662) who married Mary Bryan (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Bryan-269) from Isle of Wight, Virginia. Geographically they are locations far away from each other. Furthermore, I think Greenberry Lee is the son of John Lee https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Lee-4577 from, again, Northumberland, Virginia. Read their profiles: "Greenberry Lee's Parents - Alternative parents" (at the bottom of his profile); and John Lee-4577 - see John Lee's children listed in his profile bio.

Image 1 notes the middle name of Agnes, is this not a valid source?

Where does that document refer to a reliable source (e.g. original source)?

Ken, I couldn't post all the info here, so I sent you an email. I hope that info helps.

edited to ask, I don't understand why this profile included in the Ayer Name study? It was added by the Edit Bot???

The source in image 1 is full of errors. Need to find a primary original source like a will, etc.

Change log indicated dob, dod and date of marriage are all guesses. Marriage location is also a guess. No Sources!

Griffin-5132 and Griffin-17658 do not represent the same person because: The Thomas Lee who was born in Ditchley had different parents. Date of birth and date of death are guesses, Birthplace was a guess. If this merge were to go through, then a merge would have to be completed for Griffin-17658 and Griffin-5132 (they don't match either and Griffin-17658 is Unsourced), then another merge would have to be done for Lee-37961 and Lee-7458 again Lee-37961 is Unsourced and is not a child of Mary Griffin. I am not about to clean up all those messes just because you don't want to do the research. If you are trying to link the the Famous Lee Line of Virginia, this isn't it.
