Hannah (Griffin) Boyd was born about 1837 according to the 1860, 1870, 1880 U.S. Federal Census records.

The 1860 U.S. Federal Census records John Boyd, age 24 born in VT, is a harness maker living in White Creek, Washington Co., New York. In his household are Hannah Boyd age 23 born in Ireland and Mary Boyd age 1. There are several others listed who are identified as servants and additional harness makers.^[1]

The 1870 U.S. Federal Census records John Boyd, age 36 born in VT, as a harness maker living in Troy, ward 10, Rensselaer Co., New York. In his household are Hannah age 33 born in VT, Minne age 11, Elisa age 9, William age 4, and Viola age 10/12.^[2]

The 1880 U.S. Federal Census records John Boyd, age 45 born in NY, as a harness maker living in Troy, Rensselaer Co., New York. In his household are wife Ann age 43 born in NY, daughter Minnie age 21, daughter Elizabeth age 18, son William age 14, daughter Viola age 10, daughter Charlotte age 5, and brother in law James Griffin age 23.^[3]

Hannah E. Griffin Boyd died January 7, 1895 and was buried in Saint Peter's Cemetery, Troy, Rensselaer Co., New York.^[4]
