Philip Griffin was born, probably, in England about 1625. He resided, initially, in Salisbury, Essex County, Massachusetts, where he was a "planter". He bought a house lot in Salisbury in 1657 from Robert Fitts. He married Ann (or Agnes) Unknown and had at least three children, all born in Salisbury: [1]
Philip moved to Portsmouth, New Hampshire by 1659, and again to Scarborough, Maine, shortly after.
Philip was killed by lightning in Scarborough before October 27, 1668 - the date on which his wife married John Budezert. She died in Salisbury November 24, 1682.
