Richard was born in 1829. [1]
In 1862, Richard Griffin married Elizabeth Pearson.[2]
He passed away in 1907, aged 78. [3] Obituary: An old and well-respected resident of Strathfieldsaye, Mr. Richard Griffin, passed away on Sunday night at the advanced age of 78 years. The deceased gentleman enjoyed remarkably good health until three weeks ago, when his medical attendant, Dr. H. Boyd, was called in and he at once pronounced the case as hopeless, which, unfortunately came to pass, the end coming quiet and peacefully. He was born at Leicestershire, and arrived in Sydney in 1858, and then came on to Bullock Creek, but soon moved on to Strathfieldsaye. He leaves a wife and grown-up family of four daughters and three sons. Mr. J. T. Griffin is a brother of deceased. Much sympathy is felt for his relatives. The funeral is timed to move from his residence at 1.30 p.m. to-day for the Bendigo cemetery.[4]
