The 1861 Agricultural Census says he occupies Concession 7, Lot 11 of Renfrew County, has 100 total acres, 20 under cultivation, 10 for crops, 80 under wood or wild, Cash value of Farm $400, and lists the quantity of crops of Spring Wheat, Peas. Oats and Potatoes.
The 1891 Census of Pembroke, Renfrew North County notes his Occupation as Mail Clerk at age 60.
