Sometime after April 1865 when John Griffith's second wife Rachel Blough died [5]and before 2 May 1867 Margaret Kring Cole married John Griffith. In May 1867 she is identified in the probate records of George Kring as his daughter married to John Griffith.[6]

In the 1880 census in Jenner, Somerset, Pennsylvania, it shows John and Margaret and his daughter Emma Griffith living with them.[8]
On 1 July 1890 Margaret Griffith, shown as widow of William H. Cole gets a pension for his Civil War service. William had served as a Teamster 2 M Dept. usv or usr (can't read the last letter for sure)[9]
