They the sd Francis Dowes & Margaret Griffith appeared in a publicke and Solemn Assembley of ye aforesd People and others mett together for yt end and Purpose at the Publicke meeting house at Gwynedd aforesd and in a solemn manner according to the Example of ye holy men of god recorded in ye Scriptures of trueth, he the sd Francis Dowes takeing the sd Margaret Griffith by ye hand did openly declare as followth viz: friends I doe in ye presence of god and before you his people take this my frind Margaret Griffith to be my wife prmising wth god's Assistance to be unto her a faithfull husband until death separate us; and then and there in ye sd assembley the sd Margaret Griffith did in like manner declare as followeth: viz friends in ye fear of god and before this Assembly I doe take this my frind Francis Dowes to be my husband & doe prmise by god's assistance to be unto him a faithfull & loving wife until death separate us. . . . "
