Randolf Richard Grigg was born about 1885 in Bellarine, Victoria, Australia, the son of Katherine (Williamson) Grigg and Thomas Grigg.^{[citation needed]}

He married Lyla Daphne Calhoun in 1915 in Victoria.^[1] Their children were:

• Nancy Catherine Grigg (1915–2008)^[2]
• Richard Thomas Grigg (1916–2009)^[3]

Randolf died on 12 November 1972 in Geelong, Victoria, aged 87 years.^[4]
