Biography

Jane was born in 1845 in South Australia. She was the 3rd out of 6 children of John Grigg and Jane Jemima Primer. She had 2 older brothers and 3 younger sisters.

She married Eli Dawkins on the 14th of April 1864 in Port Gawler, South Australia.

Together they had 7 children.

Sadly both her and her daughter Edith lost their lives on the 17th April in the 1889 Gawler River Flood.

DAWKINS.—On the 17th April, by drowning, Jane Jemima, the beloved wife of Eli Dawkins, Two Wells, aged 44 years; and Edith, the second dearly loved daughter of Eli Dawkins, Two Wells, aged 19 years. "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord."
