Eunice Elizabeth Grigg was born November 18, 1828 in McMinn County, Tennessee, a daughter of Joel Grigg and Nancy Eunice Blackwell. She married Benjamin Prophet March 5, 1849 in McMinn; they had at least twelve children, all or most born in Tennessee. At some point they moved to Greene County, Missouri where Benjamin farmed. Eunice died August 10, 1907 and was buried at Clear Creek Cemetery, Greene County near Benjamin who passed away in 1885.
