Jesse can be found at the age of 1 on the 1910 US census for Saline, Arkansas, along with his mother, Eva, his father Arthur "Frank" Griggs, and his half-brother, Benjamin F. Griggs. Mrs. Mattie Davis would seem to be his mother Eva's mother. The census gives Jesse's birth state as Arkansas.

Jesse was married at the age of 25, on November 17, 1934 in Comanche County, Oklahoma, to Miss Vona Scott, also age 25. [4]
Jesse's Findagrave memorial page gives his death (year only) as 1966. He is buried next to his wife, Virdie, who may be another wife, or, (if her age is misstated on the wedding application), and if Virdie is a nickname for Vona, may be the same person. Virdie (1906-1993) is buried by the same headstone at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park, Mesquite, Dallas County, Texas, USA. [5]
