Biography

Benjamin Grigsby was born in 1747 in Fauquier, Colony of Viriginia. His parents were Richard Grigsby and Amie Rush. He married Elizabeth Duncan on December 23, 1786 Together they had at least three children:

  1. John Grigsby
  2. Benjamin Grigsby
  3. Sylvia Grisby

He died in 1840 in Perry County, Kentucky, USA

Research Notes

  • There were two marriages for Benjamin in the Quaker records. His first wife was Elizabeth Duncan (unless he had an uncle or cousin of the same name) and would have died before those children were born. He married Alice Browning in 1790.

Grigsby-512 and Grigsby-194 appear to represent the same person because: The have the same wives (Duncan- 3079) and the similar birth dates correct one not known and they have the same death date and place. Grigsby-512 has the most pertinent information.
