Biography
Clifford Grimes September 20, 1927 - July 27, 2009 COLUMBUS, GA— Clifford 'Gene' Grimes, age 81, resident of Columbus, GA, died on Monday, July 27, 2009 at Vista Care Hospice, Columbus. Memorial services are scheduled at St. Luke United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 30, 2009, 11:00 a.m. with Reverend (Dr.) Hal Brady officiating. Private interment will be held by the family at Parkhill Cemetery. Mr. Grimes, son of the late Clifford Cole Grimes and Lucinda Ann Dobbs, was born September 20, 1927 in Marion County, GA. He was a longtime member of St. Luke United Methodist Church; member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class; and served also a member of the Uptown Food Pantry. Mr. Grimes retired as Vice President of the former Industrial Bearing and Transmission, Inc., Lifetime member of the Lions Club; and member of the Friday Friars Group. He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. (Sister Josephine Grimes King died 7/31/2009)
