Biography
"The petition of John Read, father-in-law of Martin Grim, late of Mahanoy Township in said county, deceased, was referred to the court humbly showing: that the said Martin Grim died, left Catharing his wife and issue two children, one son and one daughter, Abraham and Chesty, minors under the age of fourteen years, and have no guardians to take care of their person and estates. The petitioner therefore humbly prays the court to appoint another person or persons as guardians of said children. Wherefore January 19, 1818 the said petition is granted and John Read, appointed as guardian of said children for the purpose aforesaid."
