Nicolas Isaac Grindstaff was born c.1746.[1] [2] [3] He passed away in 1794 at Washington Co. Tennessee.[1] [3]

Nicholas Grindstaff married Catherine Smith. [3] He was possibly married a second time though that is not confirmed. His children were:

He applied for a land grant in Burke Co., N.C. on 11 Oct. 1783.

He moved to the Watauga Settlement, now located in Carter County, Tennessee by 1787. This area was also known as Washington County, North Carolina and Washington County, Tennessee. [4] [5]
