Biography
Willa L. Hicks, 69, of Shelbyville, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at Major Hospital.
Born Oct. 27, 1933, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of J. Everett and Florence T. (Whitehead) Grinstead. She married Malcolm L. Hicks on March 25, 1951, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 1990.
Survivors include three sons, Michael L. Hicks of St. Louis, Mo., David E. Hicks of Shelbyville and Patrick Shawn Hicks of Marshall, Mich.; one daughter, Kimberly A. Angleberger of Indianapolis; three sisters, Rosanna Fuchs of Morristown, Laura Weinantz of Shelbyville and Harriett Banich of Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Jason Sharp, Jennifer Hicks, Jeremy Hicks, Julie Ellis, Gayle Hicks and Adam Hicks; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Hick moved to Shelbyville in 1991 from Indianapolis.
She was formerly employed at Linne's Baker and later employed at Kroger for eight years, retiring in 1999.
Mrs. Hicks attended Broad Ripple High School.
She was a member of Bridgeport United Methodist Church in Bridgeport.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ed Mohr officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Shelby County, in care of Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
