Hello! I am from the Project Quebecois to. You are the owner of a number of profiles with the last name "Lanoix_Dit_Enouille" , "Enouille_Dit_Lanoix" , or "Gelina_Dit_Lacourse". Per both wikitree guidelines and project Quebecois guidelines, profiles should use ONLY the first last name listed on the baptismal record, with the full dit name in either current last name or other last names section. Please correct them when you can! See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Quebecois#Guidelines_on_Names for more info.

Hi Mary-Liz,

We’ve made some exciting changes to the Global Cemeteries Project. The sub-projects have been merged into the Global Project to help with Leadership and to facilitate collaboration.

Some roles within the project have changed. From now on, there are Project Coordinators for each continent, and one for Welcome and Integration, plus Team Leaders for each individual Country etc.

Please let me know if you’d like to stay on in the new project, if you’d like to continue in an existing role, and which team(s) you’d like to be on. Please also give me your e-mail address so that I can get you added to the project’s Google Group.

Many thanks,

Susie

Mary-Liz, re Bout-de-l'Lle, [email address removed] issue,

Link at Québec - Commission de toponymie - Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue - Origine et signification may be of interest.

Birth in 1740 inherently implies Birth Location should end with 'Canada, Nouvelle-France' and therefore not include 'Île' or 'Île-de-Montréal' or 'Lower Canada' or 'Canada East' in the field ending.

The parishes at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Quebec_Ressources are not enough to pinpoint which variant should be used for historical place name. This why it is so important for all Quebecois Project Canada, Nouvelle-France sub-categories to be pre-determined and spelled correctly.

Regards, Claude

Mary-Liz and Jacqueline are 8th cousins once removed. I was surprised to see we relate through Pierre Picard. Would you take a look at Mallet-9. He is one of my gr-grands. He has an unsourced tag but it looks like you uploaded a scan of his birth document. Would you be able to translate the birth document? It's beyond my skills I'm afraid. Thank you for the scan and any further help you might be able to give.

Edited: I see the reason for the unsourced tag--I should have removed after the merge. Still would like a translation if possible.

Hi

Wish you a Happy New Year. May 2018 bring you all you need to be happy.

Congratulation for adding your contributions in December. Whatever the quantity of your contributions, they all count. As we always say "Quality is better than quantity" to make a great family tree.

Thank you for being a Wikitreer,

Guy Constantineau - Wikitree leader

Hi Mary-Liz,

Newbie here. We're related to Félix Fortier (1768-1808) who married Catherine Letourneau, and otherwise, but they were the first couple I came across showing the connection. I took info from family documents to get started at mesaieux. It's limitations have dawned on me, while wiki is a goldmine. Still some loose ends...

Best,

Bruce

I have looked at the Stephen Willey and Etienne Willis, your suggested merge. Several things match. My difficulty are comparison of the children's names. I don't see a match. My source for this Stephen Willey is the NH Willey Genealogy book. Why is Etienne "Orphaned" in Wiki? If we merge, Etienne should be placed under Stephen's name in my opinion. Ron Willey

Hi Mary-Liz, I am contacting you to see if you are able to determine who the parents are on the baptism image uploaded to the profile of Jean Mallet.

Hello Mary-Liz- I'm responding to your suggestion for a merge of the following Chevreau-22 and Chevreau-7. I totally agree and Chevreau-7 has all the correct information (spouse, family, death) with the exception of the birthdate. I have spent hours examining the information (baptism records and census records) and I am certain that Chevreau-7 was baptized on 27 Jun 1652. Proof will be the baptismal cert and the 1681 census from Quebec stating "Rene is 39 and Marie Chevreau is 29-years-old". I will be adding my sources, I've also requested a merge :)
