Biography

Although Charles Griswold died at 48, he achieved a lot, graduate of Yale, lawyer, Probate Judge, Justice of the Peace and member of the legislature. Also, as father of John Griswold, Civil War Patriot who, before he died at Antietum declared to General Burnside, "I die as I have ever wished to die, for my country," he must have been a great father. He and Ellen Perkins Griswold had five other children.
