John was the husband of Elizabeth (Hammon) Grizzle — married 1797 in Russell Co., Virginia, USA. He was the father of Aily Grizzel, Harry Grizzle, William Hensley Grizzle and Jesse Grizzle.
John H. Grizzle Sr. aka Grizzel died 4 Nov 1857 at age 83 in Russell County, VIrginia, United States. He was buried at the Yahoola Baptist Church Cemetery in Dahlonega, Lumpkin County, Georgia, USA.
