Born and raised in Marshall, Missouri. Graduated from Marshall High School. Attended Graceland College, Lamoni, Iowa. Radio and television news reporter for six years, twice elected to the Missouri House of Representatives from Republic, Missouri, and was a college vice-president for development for twenty-seven years. Retired in 2004.
Past-president of Springfield Writers’ Guild. Managed publication of the Guild’s first anthology of members’ works in 2015. Freelance writer, speaker to community organizations, workshop presenter, memoir-writing coach, and author or editor of four nonfiction books. His latest book is A Guide to Writing Your Memoir or Life Story: Tips, Tools, Methods and Examples. He publishes mini-memoirs at www.waynegroner.com.
