Biography

Edwin was born in 1869. He was the son of Richard Groom and Elizabeth Wallers.

Verulam Natal Wesleyan Chapel Baptisms 1868-1872:

29 Oct 1869 Edwin Groom (Richard and Elizabeth) Inanda, born 20 Jul 1869.[1]

Edwin married Alice Henrietta Shuttleworth circa 1909.

They had two daughters.

He was a farmer. He received the farm The Plateau. Later he sold it and bought Cliffvale, near Harding, Alfred, Natal. Here it was that his and Alicia's joint will was signed on 30 June 1934.

He passed away in 1948 at the age of 79. At the time of his death he owned two properties in Harding: the Rem. (726 acres) of Cliffvale, and Rem. (48 acres) of Lot JH No. 354 in Alfred County.
