Hi Peter, in response to your enquiry of how to add the category of convict to a profile, excellent advice is provided on the g2g forum of Wikitree. When the Bio is update with sources the category can be added, (as advised in the link below) - and it will show up on the relevant list.

ADDING CATEGORIES to a profile.

Advice on this procedure on Wikitree can be found on the GtoG.

I hope this helps. Shoshanah

Thanks for your note, Peter.

One of our mentors created a GEDCOMpare process tutorial that may have some tips you would find helpful. If the process seems too long, you do have the option to upload a smaller file and work on it instead.

I've found that many small files works much better for me as I like feeling of accomplishment when I finish one. The key to using smaller files is to always include at least one person who already has a profile on WikiTree. Let me know if you have any questions.

I look forward to seeing your twig grow in the branches of WikiTree,

Debi

Hi Peter,

This is a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far?

I see that you uploaded a GEDCOM. Do you have questions about the GEDCOMpare process?

Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful? Most of us still have some questions after reviewing them.

I'm here to help with issues and questions about how WikiTree works. Click my name to send me a private message or ask in the comment section of my page.

PS If you get a "Page Not Found" error when clicking WikiTree email links, you can often find a working version in the public comments on your profile.

Hi Peter,

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a Pre-1700 Project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants.

It looks like the England Project would be a good fit with the tag you entered. Adding the tag England will help you get updates about activity for that project.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

P.S. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile as the links will work from there.
