From her obituary: Lottie Mae Butler, 76, of 128-F Hilldale Drive, Ephrata, died Monday at Lancaster General Hospital. She had been under a doctor’s care. She was the wife of Newton I. Butler. Born in Ephrata, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Bertha Keath Gross. She lived in Ephrata most of her life. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Ephrata. She was the former manager at White Shield Drug Store, Ephrata. She retired in 1980. She enjoyed handicrafts, principally knitting and quilting. Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Carol A. Buch of Lititz and Kathleen S. Butler, with whom she lived; six-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; two stepsons, Carl Newton Butler of Mobile, Ala. and Walter M Butler of Irvington, Ala.; five step-grandchildren; a step-great grandchild; and a sister, Ethel A., wife of Fred J. Kirchner, York.
She was called “Nana Bottie” by her grandchildren, because her grandson Cory could not say Lottie when he was young.
