Barbara (Grosshans) Schnabel was a Black Sea German.

Barbara Grosshans has a calculated birth date of 7 April 1812. [1]

Barbara's parents were Karl Johann Heinrich Grosshans and Margaretha.[2] Barbara was born in Kassel, for her parents were original settlers of Kassel, Glückstal District, Odessa/Kherson, Russian Empire in 1808.[3]

Her mother's maiden name was Margaretha Stock, as found on her mother's death record. [4]

Barbara married Georg Schnabel. [1]

Barbara Schnabel died at the age of 41 years, 10 months, 4 days on 11 February 1854 in Kassel, Glückstal Colony, Kherson, Russian Empire.[1]

After Barbara's death, Georg continued to live in Kassel, Glückstal District, Odessa/Kherson, Russian Empire. In 1858, he is listed in household # 57 of Kassel. The entry reads as follows:

" 57 Georg Schnabel 50

Sons: Konrad 20, Ludwig 12, Philipp, Daniel 9
Daughters: Barbara 18, Magdalena 7

Brother: Ludwig 48 - Wife: Christina 47

Son: Ludwig 6
Daughters: Katharina 14, Christina 11"
